In 1895, magazines were produced by SPCK as a 2 – 4 page cover with local Grasmere news, and a generic supplement of around 20 pages called “The Dawn of Day”, containing stories, household hints and religious items. Although the supplements do not cover Grasmere, they do provide an interesting social insight and can be found here.
